Blazers Continue Track and Field Success

Daniel Boone athletes continued to shine in competition with several standout performances for the Blazers track and field team.

Julia Leady captured a first-place finish in the 3200-meter run, posting an impressive time of 10:53.05. Teammate Sarah Shank also turned in a strong performance in the same event, earning an eighth-place finish.

In field competition, Brynn Bollinger secured an eighth-place finish in the shot put, adding to another successful day for the program.

School officials praised the athletes for their hard work and determination as the team continues its strong postseason run.

Creativity at Annual Art Show

The Daniel Boone Area School District is inviting the community to celebrate student creativity at its annual High School Art Show on Wednesday, May 13.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Daniel Boone Area High School, where student artists will showcase work across a variety of artistic mediums and styles.

Attendees can explore displays featuring everything from bold visual designs to detailed original pieces, highlighting the talent and creativity of students throughout the district.

Organizers say the event offers a great opportunity for the community to support young artists and experience the impressive work being created in Boone classrooms.

Star Wars Night Takes Over

the Fightin Phils Ballpark

The Reading Fightin Phils are bringing a galaxy of fun to the ballpark with their upcoming Star Wars Night this Saturday.

Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars characters and enjoy themed entertainment throughout the evening. The event will also feature a MEGA Blast fireworks show following the game, adding to the intergalactic atmosphere.

Organizers say the special event is designed to create a fun, family-friendly experience for baseball fans and Star Wars enthusiasts alike.

Manatawny Green Mini Golf

Returns for Summer Season

A local resident is spotlighting Manatawny Green Mini Golf as one of Pottstown’s favorite community gathering spots, highlighting both its family-friendly atmosphere and its connection to the borough’s revitalization efforts.

Located at 71 W. High Street, the miniature golf course was developed on a former industrial site as part of an effort to create more recreational green space in downtown Pottstown. Supporters say the course has become a popular destination for families, date nights, birthday parties and casual outdoor fun.

The 2026 season runs from May 22 through Oct. 30, with hours varying throughout the week and season. Admission is $8 for guests ages 4 and older, while children under 3 are admitted free with a paid adult.

Visitors are encouraged to check the course’s social media pages for weather-related updates and special events throughout the season.
