Boone Baseball and Track Teams
Compete in BCIAA Action
It’s a major postseason day for Daniel Boone student-athletes as both the baseball and track & field teams prepare for high-level competition.
The Daniel Boone Baseball team is set to begin BCIAA playoff action against No. 2 seed Oley Valley at Owls Field in West Lawn. First pitch is scheduled for approximately 6:30 p.m., following the earlier playoff matchup at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, the district’s Track & Field team will compete in the BCIAA Championships at Governor Mifflin, with athletes taking the stage in one of the season’s biggest events.
School officials wished all competitors the best as they represent the Blazers in postseason play.
Suspect Arrested in Fatal Pottstown Stabbing
Authorities have arrested a man accused in a fatal stabbing in Pottstown that occurred Wednesday afternoon on Walnut Street.
According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Ryan Grace, 37, was taken into custody Thursday after police received information about his location shortly after announcing a reward tied to the case.
Investigators allege Grace fatally stabbed Shaquille Kare Nicholas, 33, during an argument inside a bedroom at a residence in the 300 block of Walnut Street. Police say the incident happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Officials noted that tips from the public quickly helped lead investigators to the suspect’s whereabouts. Grace has been charged with first-degree murder and related offenses.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Benjamins Host Mother’s Day
Doubleheader at Santander Arena
The Pennsylvania Benjamins are set to celebrate Mother’s Day with a special doubleheader event at Santander Arena.
The action begins with an international matchup featuring the Düsseldorf Warriors taking on the England Eruptors, followed by the undefeated Pennsylvania Benjamins facing off against Arizona.
Doors open at 11 a.m., with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 plus fees, and all mothers will receive free admission to the event.
Organizers say the doubleheader offers a family-friendly way to celebrate Mother’s Day with football and international competition.

Amity Development Meeting
Amity BoS Public Hearing - Cluster Home Developments
Community members turned out in strong numbers for a recent Amity Township special meeting focused on the proposed Cluster Development ordinance.
According to organizers, approximately 50 residents attended in person, while another 70 people joined through a livestream broadcast. The meeting centered on discussion surrounding the proposed ordinance and its potential impact on future development in the township.
Officials noted that the Board has not yet voted on the proposal, encouraging residents to stay informed and continue following the discussion.
Nick DiPaolo Returns to
SoulJoel’s for One Night Only
Comedian Nick DiPaolo is set to return to SoulJoel’s at SunnyBrook for a one-night-only performance on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m.
The veteran stand-up comic, known for his sharp wit and politically charged humor, has built a long career through appearances on programs including “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn,” “The Sopranos,” “Louie,” “Inside Amy Schumer” and numerous Comedy Central Roasts. He has also performed on major late-night shows and currently hosts “The Nick DiPaolo Show.”
The event will take place at 50 Sunnybrook Road in Pottstown, with doors opening 30 minutes before showtime. Tickets are available in both general admission and preferred seating options, with select seats including a post-show meet-and-greet.
Guests can enjoy food from Gatsby’s Pub as well as drinks available throughout the evening.
Manatawny Creek Winery Sip & Paint
Event Planned for Mother’s Day
Manatawny Creek Winery is inviting guests to celebrate Mother’s Day with a creative afternoon of painting, wine and relaxation at its upcoming Sip & Paint event.
The event will be held at the winery’s location at 227 Levengood Road in Douglassville and will feature instruction from artist Vicky Romanoski. Participants will create their own artwork during the three-hour experience while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine.
Tickets are priced at $45 and include all painting supplies along with the wine. Guests can register online or in the winery tasting room.
