Protection for Birds, a Gift for You
Since 1970, we have lost 3 billion birds in North America. Birds like the Snowy Owl are at increasing risk of extinction due to climate change. Birds are vital to healthy ecosystems - and their decline affects us all.
With over a century of conservation expertise, the National Audubon Society knows what it takes to protect the birds we love. And with your support today, we can.
Join us in protecting birds with a dependable, annual gift and we’ll send you our quarterly, award-winning magazine every year as our thanks.

Hydrant Flushing Scheduled for
May 11–13 Across Birdsboro
The Birdsboro Municipal Authority will conduct routine hydrant flushing throughout the borough from Monday, May 11 through Wednesday, May 13 as part of ongoing water system maintenance.
Officials say the work is necessary to help maintain high-quality water service for residents. During the flushing process, customers may experience temporary low water pressure or discolored water.
If discoloration occurs, residents are advised to run cold water taps at the lowest level of the home for three to five minutes until the water clears. The authority also recommends avoiding laundry during periods of discoloration to prevent staining.
The municipality thanked residents for their patience and understanding during the maintenance process.
Daniel Boone Optimist Club
Hosts Annual Trout Rodeo

The Daniel Boone Optimist Club is preparing to host its 25th Annual Trout Rodeo, offering local children a free opportunity to enjoy a day of fishing and outdoor fun.
The event will take place at the South Birdsboro Archery Rod & Gun Club and is open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. No fishing experience is required, and assistance will be available for beginners. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing rod and bait, and prizes will be awarded during the event.
Organizers say the Trout Rodeo will be held rain or shine, with a severe weather date scheduled for May 16, 2026. Parking will be available in a designated field area near the club grounds.

Community Shredding Event
Planned in Douglassville

Five Pillars Financial Group will sponsor a Community Shredding Event in Douglassville, giving residents a safe way to dispose of sensitive personal documents.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the shredding truck reaches capacity. It will take place at Redner’s Warehouse Markets, 11 Douglassville Shopping Center.
The shredding service will be provided by Wiggin Shredding, and organizers note the event is intended for individuals only, with business materials not accepted.
Officials say the event offers a convenient opportunity for community members to securely destroy confidential paperwork and help prevent identity theft.
Volunteers Needed for Amity Pool Refresh Day

The Amity AC Pool is calling on community members to lend a hand during its upcoming Pool Refresh Day as preparations begin for the summer season.
Volunteers are invited to help on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. with a variety of projects, including clean-up efforts, painting and other small maintenance tasks designed to get the facility ready for opening day in the coming weeks.
Organizers say community support plays an important role in helping the pool prepare for a successful summer season and appreciate anyone willing to assist.
