The Amity AC Pool is gearing up for the Summer 2026 season, with membership registration now open for returning and new members.
The pool will officially open for the season over Memorial Day weekend, beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, May 22, and will operate 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Monday, May 25 for the holiday.

Boone Hosts Bus Driver Skills Competition

The Daniel Boone Area School District hosted a Bus Driver Competition on Saturday, bringing together transportation professionals for a day of skill and precision.
A total of 36 contestants from nine companies participated in the event, completing a series of challenges that included a written exam, vehicle inspection and a driving course featuring ten obstacles.

Top honors went to Krise, which secured both first and second place finishes. Winners earned prizes and qualified for the state competition scheduled for June 19–20 at Bald Eagle High School in State College, where the top 10 participants from this event will compete.
District officials highlighted the importance of recognizing the expertise and dedication of bus drivers who play a critical role in safely transporting students each day.
Route 724 Businesses Remain
Open During Road Closure

Local businesses along Route 724 in Birdsboro are reminding customers they remain open despite ongoing road closures tied to bridge repairs at Route 568 and Route 724.
Businesses including Ridgewood Winery, Meraki Manor, Scoupe DeVille Ice Cream Parlor and Shades of Green say detour signage in the area may be confusing, but operations continue as usual. Owners are encouraging customers to check their websites or social media pages for the latest updates on access and hours.
For those visiting Ridgewood Winery, the recommended route is via Route 724 from Route 422 or Route 176 toward Birdsboro.
Business owners expressed appreciation for the community’s patience and continued support during the construction period.
FINANCIAL
You're Not Bad With Money.
You're Just Doing It Alone
“You’re not bad with money. You’re just doing it alone…”
That's a quote from a guy named Mikey Caloca, and it's probably the truest sentence we've read about personal finance in a while.
Think about it. We'll talk about our marriages, our health, even our therapists — but tell a friend you're behind on credit cards and watch the room go quiet. So we deal with it alone. We Google in private. We promise ourselves we'll fix it next month. Again.
Mikey runs a community called Mikey's Money House, and the whole thing is basically built around fixing that one problem: nobody to talk to about it. Members hop on multiple live classes a week - credit, debt, side hustles, investing - and the topics rotate based on what people are actually dealing with. He'll even pull up a member's Credit Karma on a call and break it down with the group, live.
If "figure it out alone" hasn't worked yet, that might be the actual problem.
How Did We Do?
