Boone Baseball Earns 9-3 Win

at FirstEnergy Stadium

The Daniel Boone varsity baseball team earned a strong 9-3 victory over Reading High School on April 15 at FirstEnergy Stadium, bouncing back after a recent road loss.

The Blazers delivered an impressive offensive performance, tallying 12 hits in the game. Chase Yenser led the way, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and a career-high four RBIs. James Jones also stood out with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, adding two runs and an RBI.

The win not only snapped a three-game home losing streak, but also served as redemption after a narrow loss to Reading in their previous matchup last season.

With the victory, Daniel Boone improves to 4-7, while Reading drops to 5-6. The Blazers will look to carry momentum into their next game against Cedar Crest, while Reading prepares to face Fleetwood.

Amity Blue Marlins Welcome

New Swim Coach Leif Hoffman

The Amity Blue Marlins swim team has announced the addition of Coach Leif Hoffman to its coaching staff for the upcoming season.

Hoffman brings extensive experience to the program, having competed in swimming for 17 years, including at the collegiate level, and spending several years coaching both winter and summer swim teams. A graduate of Elizabethtown College with a background in computer engineering and coaching, he has earned recognition as a Landmark Conference Scholar-Athlete, with honors in freestyle, backstroke and relay events.

Now based in the Douglassville area, Hoffman is looking forward to working with the team and helping swimmers develop their skills and love for the sport.

Team officials say they are excited to welcome his experience and enthusiasm to the Blue Marlins this summer.

Amity Park Road Closures Set for April 16–17

Amity Township is alerting residents to upcoming road closures on Amity Park Road due to paving work.

The closures will take place on Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17, as crews complete paving in areas where a water line was installed earlier this year. During this time, the road will be limited to local traffic only, and drivers should expect potential delays.

Residents living northeast of Highland Place are advised to use Weavertown Road for access. Those between Highland Place and Limekiln Road are encouraged to plan routes based on current work zones to minimize delays.

Officials recommend allowing extra travel time and using alternate routes when possible.
