Blazer Foundation Urges Golfers

to Sign Up Before Deadline

The Blazer Education Foundation is reminding golfers to secure their spot for its upcoming Annual Golf Outing, scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at Arrowhead Golf Course in Douglassville.

The event will feature a 1 p.m. shotgun start, bringing together participants for a day of golf, community engagement and fundraising.

Organizers note that registration closes on Sunday, April 12, and are encouraging teams to sign up soon to avoid missing out. Proceeds from the outing will support innovative programs and opportunities for Daniel Boone students.

Impractical Jokers Star Joe Gatto Set

for Multi-Night Run at SoulJoel’s

Comedian Joe Gatto, best known for his role on “Impractical Jokers,” is set to perform a special multi-night run at SoulJoel’s at SunnyBrook in Pottstown.

Shows are scheduled for:

  • Friday, April 10 – 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

  • Saturday, April 11 – 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

  • Sunday, April 12 – 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show. Tickets are priced at $30 for general admission and $40 for preferred seating, with a limited number of meet-and-greet add-ons available.

The venue, located at 50 Sunnybrook Road, will offer a full bar and food service through Gatsby’s Pub before and after performances.

Gatto has built a national following through television, stand-up tours and streaming specials, with recent projects including a comedy special released on Hulu and a widely attended international tour.

Animal Rescue League Invites Public

to Volunteer Open House

The Animal Rescue League of Berks County is inviting community members to get involved during its upcoming Volunteer Open House on April 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Held at the shelter’s location on 58 Kennel Road in Birdsboro, the event will give attendees an inside look at the organization’s mission and daily operations. Visitors can tour the facility, meet staff and current volunteers, and learn about a variety of volunteer opportunities.

Opportunities are available for those interested in hands-on work with animals as well as behind-the-scenes support roles, with staff on hand to help match volunteers with the right fit.

As part of admission, guests are asked to bring a bag of soft dog or cat treats, which will be donated to support animals in the shelter’s care.

Boone Library Launches

Community Duck Hunt

The Boone Area Library is inviting the community to take part in a fun, family-friendly Duck Hunt activity beginning Monday, April 13.

Participants can visit local businesses throughout Birdsboro and Douglassville to search for hidden ducks. Those who take part will have a chance to win a free Duck Derby ticket and a T-shirt.

A clue sheet to guide the hunt will be available on the library’s Facebook page and at the library starting April 13. Organizers note that participation is limited to one duck entry per household.
