Amity Fire Company Visits
Berks County 911 Center

Members of the Amity Fire Company recently visited the Berks County 911 Center to gain a closer look at how emergency calls are handled behind the scenes.
During the visit, firefighters met with dispatchers and learned how calls are received, processed and sent out to first responders in the field. The experience provided members with a better understanding of the critical role dispatchers play in every emergency response.
Fire company officials thanked the 911 staff for the tour and for their continued work supporting first responders and the community.

Donald Weaver Remembered
by Family and Community

The Daniel Boone community is remembering Donald Weaver, a longtime educator, coach and athletic leader whose career at Daniel Boone Area High School left a lasting impact on generations of students and athletes.
Weaver graduated from Millersville University, earning two master’s degrees in Counseling and School Psychology. He spent his entire professional career at Daniel Boone High School, where he taught History and English and later served as a Guidance Counselor, supporting students both academically and personally.
His dedication to student athletics was equally significant. Weaver served as the Athletic Director at Daniel Boone for many years, helping guide and grow the school’s athletic programs. His passion for sports led him to start the Daniel Boone wrestling program, where he also served as a coach. In addition, he coached the junior high softball team, cross country, and track and field, and served as an assistant coach for the Daniel Boone High School football team.
Throughout his career, Weaver remained deeply connected to the Boone community and its athletic traditions. His efforts helped shape the experiences of countless student-athletes and strengthened the district’s sports programs.
Family members have asked that memorial contributions be made to the Daniel Boone Sports Boosters, 501 Chestnut St., Birdsboro, PA 19508, or to Grane Hospice, 1012 W. 9th Ave., Suite 115, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
Funeral arrangements and additional service details are being handled by Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home.
