Boone Schools Closed March 9th
for Teacher Learning Day

Daniel Boone Area School District is reminding families that there will be no school on Monday, March 9, as teachers participate in a scheduled Professional Learning Day.
Students will have the day off while educators take part in professional development activities. Classes will resume on Tuesday, when students return to their regular schedules.
BMBA Hosts Coffee & Conversations Networking Event
The Berks-Mont Business Association (BMBA) will host a morning networking event, Coffee & Conversations – Pizza Party, on Thursday, March 19 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. in Gilbertsville.
Hosted by Everything Printing, the casual gathering invites local professionals and business owners to connect, share ideas and build relationships while enjoying coffee, fresh pizza and conversation.
The event will take place at 1145 E. Philadelphia Avenue in Gilbertsville. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance using the QR code on the event flyer.
Organizers say the event offers a relaxed opportunity for members of the local business community to network, meet new contacts and start the day with good food and conversation.
Boone Library Plans Hands-On
Touch-A-Truck Experience

The Boone Area Library is inviting local organizations and businesses to help bring its first-ever Touch-A-Truck event to life by participating with their vehicles.
The upcoming event will give children the opportunity to explore a variety of large and unique vehicles up close while learning about the jobs and services they represent. Organizers are looking for fire trucks, construction equipment, dump trucks, service vehicles and other eye-catching trucks that would make the experience exciting and memorable for kids.
The goal of the event is to provide a fun, hands-on learning opportunity where families can interact with vehicles and meet the people who operate them.
Anyone interested in participating with a vehicle is encouraged to contact Miss Amber at [email protected]
SoulJoel’s Launches Stand-Up
Comedy Class in Pottstown
Aspiring comedians and anyone looking to improve their public speaking skills can take part in an upcoming Stand-Up Comedy Class at SoulJoel’s beginning March 11.
The six-week course will run every Wednesday from March 11 through April 15, with classes held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at SoulJoel’s at SunnyBrook in Pottstown. Participants will learn directly from working comedians, including Jay Yoder, a teacher by day and stand-up comedian who has recently toured nationally with the Bored Teachers comedy tour.
Throughout the program, students will develop their comedic voice while learning the fundamentals of stand-up performance. The course will also cover the business side of comedy, including how comedians get booked and how networking plays a role in building a career.
At the end of the class, each participant will perform a five-minute stand-up set during a graduation showcase on Thursday, April 16. Students will also receive professional headshots and a recorded five-minute performance video as part of the program.
The class is limited to 12 students, with registration priced at $250, a discounted rate compared to the program’s typical cost of $600.
