Retail Theft, Fraud Cases Highlight
Sheriff’s Weekly Tip Request
The Berks County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating several individuals wanted in connection with a series of alleged crimes across the county. Authorities say tips from the community are often critical in helping law enforcement locate suspects and resolve outstanding warrants.

According to investigators, one case involves an incident at a Lowe’s store in Exeter Township on Nov. 17, 2025. A man allegedly used a receipt he found in the parking lot to leave the store with merchandise placed on a flat cart without paying. The items were valued at more than $2,800. Authorities report the suspect also has two additional felony retail theft warrants related to similar incidents at Lowe’s locations in Berks County.

In another case, police allege that an individual obtained a controlled substance from a CVS Pharmacy in Blandon on Nov. 20, 2025, by presenting fraudulent documents. Felony charges related to acquiring controlled substances by fraud were filed by Northern Berks Regional Police on Feb. 19, 2026.

Investigators also report that a former employee of a Walmart store in Tilden Township was observed on surveillance footage taking cash from a register on multiple occasions between Nov. 17 and Dec. 9, 2025. Authorities say the total amount taken was approximately $7,840. Charges were filed by Tilden Township Police on Jan. 9, 2026.

Another investigation involves an incident at a Wawa store in Exeter Township. Surveillance footage allegedly shows a suspect taking merchandise without paying on Jan. 5, 2026, and again on Jan. 10, 2026. Because of two prior retail theft convictions, the suspect faces felony retail theft charges. The case was filed by Exeter Township Police on Jan. 15, 2026.

In a separate case, authorities say two individuals removed copper downspouts and other copper components from the historic Hiester Mansion on Berks County Jail property on Aug. 27, 2025. The following day, approximately 68 pounds of copper was reportedly taken to a scrap metal facility in Schuylkill Haven. Bern Township Police later identified the suspects through surveillance footage, and felony charges related to theft of secondary metal were filed on Dec. 8, 2025.
Anyone with information about these individuals or their whereabouts is asked to contact the Berks County Sheriff’s Office at 610-478-6390 or submit a tip through the Berks County Sheriff mobile app. Officials note that all tips are confidential.

Boyertown Soup Stroll Returns March 21
to Support Fire Department

The Boyertown Museum of Historic Vehicles will host the BMBA Soup Stroll on Saturday, March 21, from 1 to 4 p.m., inviting the community to enjoy an afternoon of food, fun and philanthropy in downtown Boyertown.
Participants will stroll through town stopping at local businesses to sample a variety of homemade soups while supporting a meaningful cause. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Boyertown Fire Department, helping support the firefighters who serve the community.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring a canned soup donation to help the Salvation Army assist local families in need.
Organizers say the event offers a family-friendly way to explore the town, enjoy delicious soup tastings and give back to the community.
The Philly Show Brings Sports Collectors to Greater Philadelphia Expo Center

The Philadelphia Sports Collectors Show, known as The Philly Show, will return to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, continuing a tradition that dates back to 1975. Recognized as the nation’s longest-running sports memorabilia show, the event has become one of the country’s premier gatherings for collectors.
The show features an extensive selection of sports cards and memorabilia spanning more than a century, from vintage collectibles dating back to the 1800s to today’s most sought-after modern cards and items.
Held three times each year in early March, late September and early to mid-December , The Philly Show attracts dealers and collectors from across the country. More than 300 hobby dealers representing over 25 states typically participate, displaying items across more than 1,000 dealer tables. In addition to sports memorabilia, attendees can find non-sports collectibles, Pokémon and trading card game items.
Each event also includes appearances by 20 to 40 professional athletes and celebrities, offering autograph sessions, meet-and-greet opportunities and personal photo experiences. Guest signers vary by show and often include Hall of Famers, championship athletes and notable figures connected to Philadelphia teams and beyond.
