Daniel Boone Area High School’s Indoor Color Guard earned a first-place finish at a competition held Saturday, Feb. 14, at Avon Grove High School.

Competing against nine other groups, the team delivered a standout performance that secured the top score of the event. The achievement highlights the students’ dedication, preparation, and commitment throughout the season.

Following the victory, the team is turning its focus to upcoming competitions as members continue building on their success.

The Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating a century of basketball entertainment as they continue their world tour, bringing their signature blend of athleticism, comedy, and family-friendly fun to fans everywhere. Known for their creative ball-handling, high-flying dunks, trick shots, and crowd interaction, the team has built a global reputation as ambassadors of goodwill and one of the most recognizable names in sports entertainment.

Fans attending the event at Santander Arena can enhance their experience with access to the newly renovated Loft Lounge, located on the suite level above sections 108 and 109. The premium ticket package includes a show ticket, an event poster, and access to an all-inclusive food menu prepared by the arena’s culinary team. Guests will also enjoy a private bar, private restrooms, and premium seating.

The Loft Lounge menu for the event features crispy chicken tenders, Thunder-coated French fries, all-beef hot dogs, tropical fruit salad, soft pretzel bites, pit stop cheeseburger sliders, and assorted desserts.

The Berks-Mont Business Association (BMBA) is hosting a night of comedy and community support with Comedy Night featuring Joe Conklin on Saturday, May 2, at Union Jacks on the Manatawny.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a happy hour, and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, with a cash bar available throughout the evening.

Guests are encouraged to reserve tables of eight for an evening of entertainment, networking, and fun, all while supporting BMBA and its community initiatives. VIP and standard tables are available in limited quantities.

BMBA members can purchase tickets early from Feb. 4 through Feb. 28. Public ticket sales open March 1.

The State Theatre will host a special screening of The Hail Mary, featuring actor Daniel Roebuck for an in-person meet and greet and post-film Q&A session.

Roebuck will greet guests prior to the 1 p.m. showing and return after the film for a discussion with the audience. The movie, rated and running 125 minutes, tells the story of Jake Bauer, a troubled man seeking redemption. He is offered a position at an all-boys school by Sister Kathleen, who believes he has a greater purpose. Reluctantly drawn into forming a football team, Bauer gradually becomes a mentor and father figure to the students while confronting his own past and rediscovering his faith.

Blending humor and heart, the film delivers an uplifting story reminiscent of classic faith-based sports dramas.
