Amity Fire & Rescue Shares

Daylight Saving Time Safety Reminder

Amity Fire & Rescue is reminding residents that the arrival of Daylight Saving Time is a good time to take an important step in home safety.

As clocks are set forward one hour, officials encourage households to also check and replace the batteries in smoke detectors. Taking a moment to install fresh batteries and test alarms can help ensure they are working properly in case of an emergency.

Fire officials recommend pressing the test button on each alarm to confirm it sounds properly and replacing batteries if needed. Regular checks can help protect families and homes from the dangers of fire.

Safety reminders like these are part of ongoing efforts by Amity Fire Company to promote fire prevention and keep the community safe.
